Maybelline Alvarez McCoy
Board President
Maybelline Alvarez McCoy is an Afro-Panamanian immigrant, activist, and higher education leader with over 20 years of experience in strategic program development, organizing, and trauma-informed care. Her work centers marginalized communities, whether as a docent at the National Museum of African American History and Culture, a parent organizer with Teaching for Change, or an Admissions Counselor at UT Austin and Columbia University. She is dedicated to transformative healing through collective care.
Kalilah Salleh
Board Secretary
Kalilah Sallah, our dedicated Board Secretary, is a healthcare professional with extensive experience in patient care, documentation, and effective communication. Her detail-oriented approach and ability to collaborate with fellow healthcare providers have consistently enhanced the quality of care. What truly sets Kalilah apart is her passion for advancing pioneering projects, a testament to her commitment to improving patient outcomes and fostering community well-being.
Casey Stanton
Board Member
Casey Stanton is co-director of Discerning Deacons, a project that serves the Church by engaging Catholics in active discernment about women and the diaconate. She most recently served as an Adult Faith Formation Minister at Immaculate Conception Parish in Durham, North Carolina, U.S. She holds a BA from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School, where she graduated with a certificate in prison studies.
Olive Joyner

Olive Joyner's most cherished achievement is raising three loving, compassionate, and thoughtful children: Britni, Kendra, and John. A dedicated advocate, motivator, problem solver, and visionary, Olive has excelled in various leadership roles across the aerospace industry, private sector, non-profit organizations, and ministry.
Shaquisha (Kiki) Barnes
Board Member
Kiki Barnes is a Senior Clinical Administrative Chaplain at Duke Regional Hospital, a community hospital located in Durham, NC. She is an ordained minister in the Baptist Church and endorsed for chaplaincy through the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. Before joining Duke Health in 2016, Rev. Barnes had chaplain experience at the VA Medical Center, UNC Johnston Health, and as a hospice chaplain for a private agency.
